World Class Facilities

People are the heart of the Potomac School experience – but places are important, too! Our campus is home to more than a hundred classrooms, three libraries, state-of-the art science and computer labs, fine art studios, comfortable gathering spaces, and two dining rooms. The Engelhard Performing Arts Center offers music rehearsal rooms, an art gallery, and a 470-seat auditorium. And the newest addition to campus – the Spangler Center for Athletics and Community – houses a competition gym, fitness center, weights and conditioning room, meeting and event spaces, and a multipurpose studio

90 Acres of ponds, streams, and woods

Potomac students love the great outdoors! Fostering appreciation for nature and an understanding of our role as stewards of the world’s resources has always been part of The Potomac School’s mission. With its wooded trails, streams, ponds, and gardens, our 90-acre campus invites exploration and discovery. Five outdoor classrooms create exciting options for teaching and learning; there’s even a deck with a fire pit deep in the woods, where Potomac classes gather in winter to watch snowflakes drift down and keep an eye out for whitetail deer and other native species.

Indoors and out, Potomac’s campus hums with activity and the joy of learning. Our facilities are designed to support a rich curriculum and meet the needs of learners of every age. They include:

  • Attractive, well-appointed classrooms, common spaces, and study areas
  • High-tech science and computer labs
  • Three libraries
  • Art and photography studios
  • A performing arts center, with practice and rehearsal rooms and a 470-seat auditorium
  • Three gymnasiums

All of these amenities are nestled on Potomac’s beautiful 90-acre campus, whose woods, ponds, streams, and gardens serve as an extended classroom, providing opportunities for outdoor learning and an emphasis on environmental stewardship.
