Learning for Life

Making eye contact and speaking clearly. Creating a savings plan to buy something special. Knowing how to differentiate fact from opinion. Being open to someone else’s perspective. These are life skills that develop over time – which is why Potomac integrates real-world preparation across all divisions from day one. We do this intentionally and consistently, in the classroom and in campus life.

Skills that last a lifetime.
We have identified four essential core competencies for personal and professional success, regardless of the direction an individual’s life takes. These critical life skills are public speaking, financial literacy, information literacy, and cultural competence. Mastering them takes time, and it’s a process that prepares learners to face the world with confidence.
