Wrestling Highlights
Our wrestlers hit full stride on Saturday, wrestling their best so far this season. Every wrestler placed in the MAC conference tournament, which was hosted at Sidwell Friends. Carter Donald '25, Jeremy DeLaVille '24, Jason Seeber '25, and Aidan Cullinan '23 all took first place at the tournament, as well as All-Conference honors. Adar Weinman '25 took second place and was unanimously voted to the All-Conference team also. Richard Perry '25 took second, Alex DeCamp '23 took third, Deven Tuladhar '26 took fourth, and Anthony Cipriani '25 took fifth. See pictures from the event. The team travels to Richmond next week for the VISAA State Individual tournament.
The varsity wrestling team competed well against a tough Lewis High School squad in front of a jam-packed crowd at Landry Center last Friday. The energy in the room was electric as the team celebrated its senior night, honoring Aidan Cullinan, Alex DeCamp, and Bram Halpert. The team's toughness and character were on full display on the mat, and our school spirit was at full tilt in the stands. The Potomac wrestling program offers its sincere thanks to the members of SAC, the Athletics Department, the Upper School school administration, and all the fans who came out to make it such a special event. Enjoy the photos. Your grappling Panthers will next see action at the MAC individual tournament at Sidwell this Saturday, February 4, 10:00 am
The varsity wrestling squad competed outdoors against Sidwell Friends this past Saturday in the third Annual Backyard Classic. The team had a great crowd of parents, alumni, and former Potomac wrestlers cheering them on. Adar Weinman '25, Bram Halpert '23, Carter Donald '25, and Jeremy DeLaVille '24 all scored wins. Deven Tuladhar '26, Gus Tierney '26, and Anthony Cipriani '25 wrestled well in their varsity debuts. Excellent weather and wonderful support from our community helped make the event really special this year. Next up, the team heads to the Loudoun County duals on Saturday.
In the 30th annual Potomac School Tip-Off Tournament, the boys basketball team managed to win the championship! On Friday, the squad defeated Sandy Springs 81-55 in the home season opener.
The girls varsity squash team beat Mercersburg Academy 7-2 during their first hosted match at the new Spangler courts. The top seven players in the team’s lineup did not drop a game, and many Panthers held their opponents to a total of fewer than four points per match.
Congratulations to our athletics for their amazing fall season. The Panthers are...
