ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES AND COME BE PART OF
A SPECIAL POTOMAC SCHOOL SANDWICH DAY
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2024
As we celebrate The Potomac School's rich history,
we'd like to invite our alumni community
to reconnect with a
cherished tradition from your student days
by making sandwiches with Lower School students.
Wednesday, February 14
Meet in the Lower School Lobby
- 7:45 AM: Arrive for coffee and breakfast. Hear about our Service Learning program
- 8:15 AM: Join a third grade class to recreate the magic of sandwich making
- 9:15 AM: Contribute to the tradition by counting, bagging, and labeling sandwiches
- 9:30 AM: Optional trail walk to follow
Service Learning is about asking essential questions like...
► How can I be a changemaker?
► What are the needs, injustices, and
► inequities in our community?
►What matters to me?
When students begin to explore the "why," they acquire a stronger understanding of the importance of building habits of service. They evolve from questions to statements like "I have a responsibility to know about and address community issues."
We have all the supplies, but if you'd like to contribute, we are asking for whole-grain bread.
Your participation will enrich this event and contribute to our ongoing efforts to address food insecurity and achieve food equity in the local community.
