Potomac App FAQ
The Potomac School has an improved app. Its most important features are the directories (parent, student, and faculty & staff) and the calendars (all-school, divisional, and athletics). We also have individual team calendars for our various sports. See below for details.
How do I download the app?
The Potomac app is available on both the Android and iOS platforms. Go to your device’s app store and search for “The Potomac School.” The app features a picture of the official Potomac logo, with the “Labor Omnia Vincet” crest. The app is free to download.
How do I log in?
Click on the “Log In” button at the top of the app’s homepage. To log in, use the same username and password that you use for CampusNET.
What information can I find on the homepage?
At the top of the homepage is a selection of recent Potomac news headlines, which you can look through by swiping left on the image that greets you when you open the app. If you would like to read a news article, simply tap once on the headline that interests you.
Beneath the news stories is a day-by-day calendar listing upcoming Potomac events. (Note that athletics events are not included here.) Scroll down to see as far as three months ahead.
If you're not sure whether or not you're on the homepage, look at the bar at the bottom of the screen. The "Home" tab at the far left should be highlighted in brown.
How do I access the directory?
The directory is located under the "Directory" tab on the bar at the bottom of the screen, second from the left. When you tap on it, you'll be asked to choose one of three directories: Faculty & Staff, Student, or Parent. The latter two directories are locked to any users who are not logged in.
Once you select a directory, you can search for a name or scroll through the full list.
How do I access the calendar page?
You can find the calendar page under the "Calendar" tab on the bar at the bottom of the screen. This calendar page is more extensive than the one on the homepage: it includes athletics events, as well as other important Potomac dates. Scroll down to see upcoming events.
I'm looking for a specific event on the calendar page, and it's hard to find. Is there a way for me to restrict the calendar to the kind of event I'm looking for?
Yes! Tap on the "Filter" button at the top right corner of your screen. This will take you to a menu listing six calendars: All-School, Athletics, Intermediate School, Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School. Uncheck the calendars you don't want to see and then tap the "<" button at the top left corner of your screen. This will refresh your calendar to show only the events in the categories you have chosen.
Is there an athletics-only calendar available on the app?
The easiest way of accessing the athletics-only calendar is by tapping on the "More" tab in the bottom right corner of the screen. From there, tap on "Athletics," where you will see a full calendar of upcoming athletics events. You can also select "Past Events" (on the tab toward the top right of your screen, just below "Filter") to review details from recent events.
How do I filter the athletics calendar by team?
On the athletics calendar under the "More" tab, tap on the "Filter" button in the top right corner of your screen. There, Potomac sports are listed according to season. Uncheck all options except for the sports you would like the calendar to display. Then, press the "<" button at the top left corner of your screen. The calendar will update to show your selections.
Does the app contain links to the Parent Portal and/or Potomac's social media accounts?
For easy access to the Parent Portal and Potomac's Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram pages, click on the "More" tab in the bottom right corner of your screen and then tap the link you would like to visit.
I want to log out. How do I do that?
It isn't necessary to log out. However, a log-out button is available on the app. Tap on the "More" tab at the bottom right corner of your screen. The "Log Out" option can be found just beneath the list of social media links.
