Lunchtime Conversation on Climate Change

Lunchtime Conversation on Climate Change

As part of the final project in their climate change unit, students in Dr. Cohen’s Science, Technology, and Society class hosted a poster session and presented their research and experimental designs to their fellow students. The presentations took place in the US Tiered Classroom, where their research posters were on display. The students (grades 10-12) presented a topic of interest within the context of climate change and designed their experiments. Their interests focused on very current topics such as the power generated from wind energy, the consequences of sea level rise and increased seawater temperature, as well as plant regrowth following forest fires or contamination of groundwater with fertilizers or toxins. The students enjoyed this project, which allowed them to learn about one of the world’s most pressing issues.
