Course Description: In this class, students will explore Spanish language and culture through participation in conversation, games, and songs. They will learn through storytelling, creative movement, art, and more. This immersive experience will allow them to begin to develop an “ear” for the spoken language, including tones, accents, and rhythms. The objective is to make the student’s initial exposure to Spanish a relaxed, enjoyable, and enriching experience.

Calling all chefs! In this interactive culinary class, students will embark on a journey where books come to life through the magic of cooking. Each session begins with a brief storytime, allowing us to dive into captivating tales to spark the imagination. Following our book, students will roll up their sleeves and step into the kitchen to bring the stories to the table, cooking recipes, and dishes inspired by our book! Join us for a class where literature and culinary arts blend seamlessly, creating a recipe for both literacy and tasty fun!

Course Description: In this course, students will have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with VEX IQ–the robotics platform featured in the middle school technology curriculum and used by Potomac’s middle school robotics teams. Throughout the course, students will apply the steps of the engineering design process as they participate in a variety of building, driving, and coding challenges. Whether your young engineer is passionate about robotics or simply interested in learning more, this course provides a great opportunity to learn and develop skills in a fun and collaborative environment.

Course Description: Let’s have some FUN while learning different chess strategies. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons will range from basic rules to advanced tournament strategies. Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of the club time. In-person tournaments are at an additional cost. The group will have an opportunity to participate in weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time.  All skill levels are welcome.

Course Description: Panther Pacers provides 3rd-5th grade girls with the opportunity to build confidence, develop healthy habits, and strengthen friendships through running. Course Description: Learn about public speaking and discourse through debate! Under the direction of Head Coach Harry Strong and Dr. Jeremy Metz, as well as current varsity students in the Upper School competitive program, students begin to learn about debate by practicing the fundamentals. The class provides many opportunities for students to improve their public speaking on topics that are both fun and timely. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a local tournament at the end of the session, which many find to be enjoyable and motivating. Students who participate in Epic Debaters will find themselves well-prepared for the award-winning competitive program in the Upper School.
