Description: Your squash player in the making will go over the basics, including grip, technique, coordination, and rules of the sport, while incorporating fitness and games to grow their skills and have fun! 

Lead by Coach Heba El Torky, girls varsity coach, ranked as high as #19 in the world, number one in the world as a junior, was the winner of 12 professional squash tournaments, a four-time winner of the British Junior Open, a longtime member of the Egyptian National Squash Team, and the youngest member of the first Egyptian National Team to win the Women's World Team Championships.

Description: Exchange, explore, extrapolate as students travel to the seven wonders of the world. Learn how to apply exchange rates to currency and take an adventurous scavenger hunt to explore the treasures found around the globe. Study the historical archeological journals to lead you on the right path using essential tools like maps, a compass rose, a carry-on bag and a passport to navigate the journey. 

Participants will engage in financial literacy, foreign language acquisition and an adventure of historical proportions! Space is limited!

Description: Welcome to Boulangerie Florale Workshop - our Floral Bakery - where students can learn new skills in custom cake decorating and creating complimentary crafts.

Workshop includes creating a special celebration Cupcake Flower Bouquet  and complementary artful stationery.

Participants will be using their fine motor skills, time management, artistic and creative thinking while working on their own and in small teams.

After completing the workshop, students will take home their edible and other creations, along with new skills to delight their family and friends on future occasions. Space is limited!

Description: The Potomac Panther 2023 field hockey clinics are designed for both girls and boys of all skill levels. Those new to the sport will learn the fundamentals of the game and be introduced to small game play. Each session the players will learn new skills, build on previously learned ones, and play games with their peers. Players with previous experience will learn advanced skills and participate in games with players of similar skill levels. With this set up, we can easily differentiate for all levels of play and give each player a positive experience while helping them grow their skills.

The Potomac Field Hockey varsity and JV coaching staff, with the help of current upper school players, will be running these clinics. We will have equipment to lend out but each player should have their own mouthguard. If you are bringing your own equipment please have a stick, shin guards, goggles (optional), mouthguard, cleats/turf shoes and a full water bottle.

Celebrating Chinese New year

Chinese New Year, also called the Spring Festival, is China's most important holiday and festival. It celebrates the start of the Lunar New Year with food, colorful lanterns and other decorations, fireworks, and various festival activities. The holiday has been celebrated in China for over 2000 years! This year, let’s celebrate Chinese New Year at ETC with different activities listed below:

• Cooking: Make Chinese Dumplings
• Play traditional Chinese games
• Calligraphy: Write Characters of 福 and 春
• Make traditional Chinese crafts for decoration

In partnership with PRIDE Girls Lacrosse, The Potomac School CUBBIES Lacrosse for kindergarten - grade 4 students is focused on developing girls on and off the field. Students will work with current coaches on the fundamentals including cradling, ground balls, dodging, shooting, etc!

The group will learn how to play the game through individual skill work while also playing small sided games. The goal is to keep the girls moving throughout the time and focus on lots of fun! We look forward to working with your student(s). This group will meet from 12:00-1:30 pm for both session 1 and 2.

Description: Students spend the day at the Potomac Marketplace learning key concepts of financial literacy through fun, hands-on activities that will include designing a piggy bank to take home. The group will learn about being money conscious and participate in an interactive marketplace at the end of the day. Students will have an opportunity to role play as both buyers and sellers where they can experience decision making around selling items (from store catalogs), set prices, and what to buy based on a limited budget! Space is limited!
